Gloria Allred is the most famous woman attorney practicing law in the US today, a tireless and
successful advocate whose high-profile legal battles on behalf of victims whose rights have
been violated have led to many landmark precedent-setting court decisions and hundreds of
millions of dollars which she has won for her clients.
When a high-profile legal case hits the airwaves, people have become accustomed to seeing
Gloria Allred in some key role as attorney or commentator. But this nationally recognized
advocate has built her pioneering career on much more than O.J. Simpson and Amber Frey. As
a tireless crusader against discrimination in all areas of our lives, Allred’s legal reach has been
wide and long. For the past three decades she has played an integral role in combating
injustices and winning new rights, especially for women and minorities.
Fearless lawyer, feminist, activist, television and radio commentator, warrior, advocate, and
winner – Gloria Allred is all of these things and more. Voted by her peers as one of the best
lawyers in America, and described by Time magazine as "one of the nation's most effective
advocates of family rights and feminist causes," Allred has devoted her career to fighting for
civil rights across boundaries of gender, race, age, sexual orientation, and social
class.
Gloria Allred is author of Fight Back and Win: My 30-Year Fight Against Injustice and
How You Can Win Your Own Battles.
Gloria's Profile
Gloria Allred is a founding partner of Allred, Maroko & Goldberg, one of the pre-eminent
employment law firms in the country, which has won national prominence through many
precedent-setting cases over the course of more than 30 years. With the other attorneys of her
firm, Gloria has been involved in some of the most defining cases of our day, including O.J.
Simpson, Michael Jackson, Scott Peterson, and Robert Blake, as well as one of the earliest
sexual abuse suits against the Catholic Church. At the same time, she has also played a role
in many groundbreaking legal decisions that have forever changed our lives for the better.
Some of Allred’s cases will be familiar. She represented Amber Frey, girlfriend of convicted
murderer Scott Peterson and fought for the rights of the family of O.J. Simpson’s murdered ex-
wife, Nicole. She and her law firm won a multi-million dollar verdict for Hunter Tylo, an actress
who had been discriminated against because she became pregnant. Allred was the first to
speak out for the protection of children from Michael Jackson, and she has also represented
clients in cases involving the murder of actor Robert Blake’s wife, rocker Tommy Lee’s battery
charges, model Kelly Fisher’s lawsuit against her fiancé, Dodi Fayed, just before he died along
side Princess Diana. She also represents 57 young women who were secretly videotaped taking
their clothes off as part of a job interview at Hooters.

Fight Back and Win: My 30-Year Fight Against Injustice and How You Can Win Your Own
Battles.
In her new book, this super lawyer looks back at many of the cases in which she has
represented clients - from the celebrity trials of O.J. Simpson, Scott Peterson, Hunter Tylo and
Tommy Lee to the less well-known legal struggles of ordinary people seeking rights denied
them because of their sex, sexual orientation, disability, age or religion. Allred’s legal victories
and challenges inspire and teach readers to fight the good fight even when the odds seem
very much against them and show that they have the power to win justice in their lives.
From her vast and exciting experiences inside and outside the courtroom, Allred demonstrates
again and again how to win change and become empowered to fight for justice at home, at
work and in every aspect of life. Presenting nearly fifty of her most memorable cases, she
takes us deep inside the justice system to show how it’s possible to win, even in the face of
staggering odds.
Allred’s own life story shows how she has gone from being a victim to a survivor to an
enormously successful fighter for change. She writes with candor about her divorce at a young
age, her inability to collect child support for her baby, rape, abortion, sexism, and political
opposition. Even when she turns her attention to the particulars of her clients’ cases, she wears
her heart on her sleeve, never straying from her passionate personal commitment to doing the
right thing.
Allred opens our eyes not only to the significant positive strides we’ve made in recent decades,
but more importantly, to how much further we still have to go to empower all members of
society – especially women, minorities, and others who are deprived of their rights.
