Taking Advantage of the MINUTES
Article by Speaker Ruth Klein. Find out more about Ruth.
How can you take advantage of your minutes without being controlled by the clock? Time Management, or life management, is not about saving seconds and minutes cleaning the bathrooms and the kitchen faster. I believe that a "beating the clock" mind-set only makes you more anxious. Rather, what can you do when you have one, five or ten minutes available between appointments, waiting for a child or consciously taking the five or ten minutes to do the following:
Do You Have One Minute?
Read a favorite uplifting quote.
Close your eyes to get centered and focused on what the most important task is you need to do next.
Fill a glass of water and drink it.
Do You Have Five Minutes?
Read a few pages of an inspiring book.
Stretch legs, arms, shoulders, neck, hands and take deep breaths.
Call one of your children or significant other and say "I love you."
Do You Have Ten Minutes?
Clean up your email inbox (only for ten minutes).
Gather the information you need to start a new project, including a call if necessary for more information.
Clean out your purse or briefcase or both.
